Your Favourite PB’s: 5,000m: 17.11mins, half marathon: 77 mins

 

Have you won any titles or been selected for county teams or major events?

Came 4th U23 in Euro qualifier at Liverpool this year and qualified to represent Great Britain in the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin on 13th December 2009.

Won Kent cross country title Jan 2009

Came 6th last year in the BUSA 5,000m final, representing Loughborough University.

 

How did you get into the sport?

Started off in sport competing in swimming and then moved to completing at Biathle internationally where I represented GB as a junior (biathle is a sport consisting of a 1,000m run, followed by a 200m sea swim, followed again by another 1,000m run). After realising my strength at the run component in the Biathle event I joined Medway & Maidstone AC and started competing at middle distance running, gaining immediate success at county level. I have subsequently moved to Loughborough to study business and allow more time to concentrate on running and with the guidance of my coach Bill Foster I have been able to reach international level.

How often do you train?

6 days per week (running approx 45miles per week including weights, drills, circuits and core sessions)

 

What is your favourite training session?

8 X 3mins (90 secs recovery)

 

What is your proudest moment or biggest achievement in the sport?

Being selected to represent Great Britain in the European Cross Country Championships on 13th December 2009 in Dublin.

 

What are your current aims and targets?

To run well at the Europeans and get a team gold medal. Then my focus will be on the National Cross Country Championships in Leeds and my final BUSA cross Country Championships which this year are being held in Sterling.

 

What are your long term aims and targets?

 

Eventually become an international marathon runner, as successful as Paula Radcliffe!!!!

 

Who is your athletics hero?

Paul Radcliffe and my coach Bill Foster

 

What do you enjoy doing away from athletics?

Having lunches and hot chocolate with the girls and eating lots of yummy pic-n-mix!

 

What is your job or what are you studying?

I am a final year student currently studying Management Science at Loughborough University.

 

Do any of your family compete in the sport?

Mum completes a couple of road races each year

 

Who is your best friend in the sport?

My housemates and training partners; Gemma Hillier and Joanna Maddics
