Race Day 5 - 14 February 2009 Parkwood School, Swanley

Natalie Gray was first M&M woman home in the ladies race and Helena Penfold followed her in just one place behind.  Rachel Stewart completed the scoring team for second place on the day and seocnd place in the league overall.

M&M's senior men knew they would not retain the six and 12 to score trophies they had won in all but one year this century.  However, Barry Royden showed he's not finished yet as he led home a scoring four to score team.  Pat Curran, Ben Tyler and Adie Lowther followed him home to ensure the team finished second, the same position the team finished in the league for both four and 12 to score teams.

In the process of the race Pat Curran secured second place in the overal individual league placings.

Senior Men

The reigning Kent League Champions opened the season with a defeat for the first time in some years.  Even with Mike Coleman in fine form at the front of the race Tonbridge AC proved too strong, with their strength in depth giving the victories in both four and 12 to score races on the day.  Team manager Adrian Lowther supported Mike by taking 6th place and he was closely followed home by Tom Collins and Ben Tyler.  Other strong performances came from Nick Slade and Pat Curran were also complimented by some excellent debuts for the senior men by Paul MAson, Andrew Westby, Dujon Brown, Antony Pinol, Steve Julier and Aaron Pritchard.  21 athletes overall is a good turnout!

Despit finishing second in both team races, it is not all doom and gloom.  Barry Royden, Jack Tyler, Neil Renault, Tim Alexander and Ian Reid can all return to the line up to strengthen the squad.
