      Match 3 - 2nd August 2008 - Bedford

On a day with several key athletes missing the team was not expecting to do better than 6th, which was where they finished.  However, finishing one point behind 5th placed Crawley was agonising!  The result virtually secures British League status for the young team for next season. Luke Smallwood made a welcome return to league action and john Crouch made a welcome return to throwing competition.

      Match 2 - 5th July 2008 - Leeds

A young side (with one or two experienced masters) made the long trip to Leeds and delivered some exceptional performances to finish in 4th place!  Strength in depth in the middle disatnce events coupled with some exceptional field performances were backed up by some inspired performances by young athletes making their BAL debuts!  Not only does the 4th place finish go a long way to securing league status for next year but it also suggest that with a full strength team then promotion out of this league is not impossible in the next year or so!
